Regional Executive Underwriter - Commercial

QUICK FACTS

• Location: HYBRID- Spokane, WA (Remote eligible in WA or OR)



• Pay: $75K-$125K



• Permanent position

EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED

• 7+ years in commercial underwriting; ideally handling $5M–$8M in premium (mix of large and smaller accounts)



• Strong property background is essential. Casualty and auto experience is a plus



• Brings solid agency relationships in Washington and Oregon (highly preferred); the Portland area is especially desirable for coverage



• Proficiency in  Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook



• Completion of technical insurance coursework preferred, such as CPCU, AU, ARM, CRM or CIC



• Comfortable with direct communication—not solely reliant on email or text



• Desire to mentor or train junior underwriters and eventually move into a leadership role

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

• Manage large and complex accounts, and build strong, trust-based relationships with agencies, working with top tier and middle tier agents on production and relationship management



• Review individual submissions for Commercial lines to evaluate risk attributes, pricing, and business fit



• Make regular production calls and develop new business production



• Serve as a go-to resource on the team for peers



• Travel regularly within the region to meet agencies
