BAE Systems is seeking a Director of Contracts in support of its Navigation and Sensor Systems (NSS) business unit in Cedar Rapids, IA. Through its NSS product family, BAE Systems offers advanced navigation and sensor systems that enhance situational awareness and operational effectiveness for military and commercial applications. The NSS product line specializes in developing navigation solutions that include advanced GPS and radio navigation technologies with products designed for various applications, including airborne systems, precision-guided munitions, and handheld receivers. This position will report to the Senior Director of Contracts of the Precision Strike and Sensing Solutions business area (PS3) within the Electronic Systems (ES) sector. This resource will be a member of the NSS Leadership Team and lead on-site, remote, and hybrid Contracts Professionals for strategic & tactical proposal & contracts efforts. The NSS Contracts Director has significant cross functional influence, and requires the ability to partner across functions, customers, and stakeholders to provide strategic thought leadership as well as proactive, value-added solutions that systemically benefit the contracts lifecycle and value chain. The Role: This position is for the Navigation & Sensor Systems (NSS) Contracts Director, an essential member of the Contracts and product line leadership teams. The position requires a highly organized and deeply experienced Contracts professional in the DoD acquisition environment with strong leadership, management, and influencing skills. The selected candidate will provide leadership to the Contracts organization, supporting the development and growth of employees, and carrying out the vision of the function, as well as the overall strategy for the business area. Key Responsibilities: Provides expert guidance and counsel to the NSS Product Line Director and adjoining leadership team, while setting functional direction through strategic, legal, and financial analysis. Collaborates with senior external customers and stakeholders in the pursuit of new business opportunities and the resolution of significant contractual and business issues. Provides leadership direction to a global team in the strategic development, management, and deployment of human capital resources in support of the business strategy. Responsible for directing multiple defense and commercial contracting environments while ensuring compliance to critical business processes and performance execution to help organization deliver positive financial performance throughout all acquisition phases. Provides functional leadership and oversight of large, complex Customer proposals. Coaches and develops a team of resources to not only benefit the business, but to also benefit the unique desires of the individual employees. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in Commercial, International, and US Government Contracting with understanding of both Commercial and Military markets. Experience with FAR Part 12, FAR Part 15 and Other Transaction Authority. Ability to influence key stakeholders throughout the organization; recommend, drive and implement change based on best practices in the U.S. Aerospace & Defense industry. Ability to obtain Secret Clearance. Significant Proposal Preparation experience. Significant experience with complex negotiation of terms and conditions. Strong knowledge and experience with intellectual property protection strategies and policies. Proven leadership in the development of high performing teams. Business acumen and ability to develop and provide guidance of a strategic nature regarding customers, top line growth and overall performance of the business area. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Graduate Degree NCMA Certifications/involvement in local chapter

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
