Your Mission:

As our Director, Commercial Counsel , based in San Jose, CA and reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Products & Technology , your role will be pivotal in leading the development of our sales channels in the US and providing general legal support as needed. This is a unique opportunity to be lead counsel for sales and product management at a high-profile NASDAQ-listed solar company involved in significant renewables projects worldwide. You will interface regularly with Maxeon’s executive leadership team, offering legal advice on critical business initiatives.

Make Your Mark: How You Will Drive Change:

  • Lead Maxeon’s legal team on all matters within sales and distribution channels.
  • Support business transactions, dealer & distributor channels, marketing, and financing efforts.
  • Shape business and legal terms, deal structures, and transaction processes.
  • Manage disputes and outside counsel initiatives related to sales.
  • Advise the executive team on renewables and solar policy matters regionally.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and technology teams to execute customer contracts seamlessly.
  • Ensure agreements align with internal policies and practices.
  • Develop and refine templates, playbooks, trainings, policies, and procedures to support the business efficiently.

  • Qualified to practice law in the US.
  • Experience at a top law firm or in-house with a renewable energy company, especially in commercial transactions involving renewable components.
  • Knowledge of solar customs, tariffs, and duties.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and engage effectively with all levels of management.
  • Experience building relationships and trust internally and externally.
  • Strong desire to learn the business and expand legal expertise across jurisdictions as part of an interdisciplinary team.

It Would Be Nice If You Have:

  • Management experience with solar procurement or sales for residential, commercial, distributor, or power plant solar projects.

The US base salary range for this position is $172,000 - $268,000 plus benefits. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location. Job title may also vary accordingly.
